Miracle Pending: Trusting God in the Wait
Hold on. The best is yet to come.
God’s delays are not denials. Trust His timing—your miracle is being perfectly prepared.
In the fast-paced world we live in, where instant responses are not just encouraged but often demanded, waiting can feel unbearable. Yet, the waiting period—whether for a miracle, a blessing, or clarity in a situation—holds significant purpose. It’s in these moments that we are invited to trust God, yield to His process, and rest in His perfect timing.
The Challenge of Waiting
When life presses us to make immediate decisions, we can often feel cornered, rushing into choices without fully seeking God’s guidance. As a result, mistakes can be made, and opportunities can be missed. The world may tell us that delay equals denial, but God operates on a timeline far beyond our comprehension. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us of this truth:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Recently, I spoke with a young woman who felt stuck in a holding pattern. No matter what she did, it seemed she couldn’t “land the plane.” I encouraged her to shift her perspective: Could it be that God was keeping her circling, not as a punishment but as protection? Sometimes, the delay is God’s way of shielding us from something we cannot see or preparing us for something greater than we could imagine.
God’s Timing Is Perfect
It can be difficult to believe that God is at work when our prayers seem unanswered. But the Bible assures us that He hears us. Daniel 10:12 provides a powerful example. An angel told Daniel:
“Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.”
Even though Daniel had to wait 21 days for the answer, God heard him the moment he prayed. Similarly, God hears us the moment we call on Him, even when it seems like nothing is happening. The delay doesn’t mean that He has forgotten—it means He is working behind the scenes in ways we cannot see.
The Purpose of the Wait
Waiting is not wasted. It is a period of growth, refinement, and preparation. God uses it to shape our character, deepen our trust, and align us with His will. James 1:2-4 encourages us to embrace this process:
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
What if the very thing you’re waiting for would be incomplete if it arrived too soon? God’s delays are often His way of ensuring that His blessings are both timely and transformational.
The Glory Belongs to God
When the miracle finally arrives, it often comes in a way that leaves no doubt that God was the one who made it happen. This ensures that He receives the glory, not us. In John 11, Jesus delayed coming to Lazarus when he was sick, waiting until he had been dead for four days. To Martha and Mary, it seemed like He had come too late. But Jesus explained:
“Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (John 11:40)
The timing of Lazarus’s resurrection was intentional, magnifying the miracle and pointing everyone to God’s power and glory.
Trust the Process
Whatever you’re waiting for—a breakthrough, healing, restoration, or a long-desired blessing—trust the process. God has not forgotten you. He heard you the first time. The wait isn’t a denial; it’s a divine alignment.
Proverbs 3:5-6 offers the ultimate encouragement for those in a holding pattern:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
The plane will land when the time is right, and when it does, you’ll see why the delay was necessary. Until then, rest in the assurance that God’s plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11) and that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Final Thought
Your miracle is not just pending—it is being perfectly prepared. Yield to God’s timing and trust that His ways are better than yours. He is faithful, and when the answer comes, it will exceed anything you could have imagined. Let Him receive the glory as you wait with faith, hope, and expectation.
Hold on. The best is yet to come.
